Hello,

While registering our marriage (Hindu), we had mentioned my wife's surname as her maiden name. Can I change it now?
If I can, what is the process?

If you have received your marriage certificate then you need to apply at name change office of State government gazette, they will make it official by advertising in the local newspaper. A copy of this advertisement could serve as a legal document for a name change.Once this is done, then with these documents you need to make the necessary changes in your other documents which include PAN Card, Bank Documents, Passport, Driving license, Loans, Insurance etc.

Hopefully, this information might be of some help for any further legal help please do visit us or contact us.
